IN RENO A LOCAL HOLIDAY IS GOING ON WHICH IS CALLED "HOT AUGUST NIGHTS" (AND THEY ARE) WHEN THEY SELL ALL KINDS OF CARS. SO I DECIDED TO SELL THIS VERY SPECIAL KOTHIMODA KATANA PREVIOUSLY, THESE HAVE BEEN HAND CRAFTED BY BURA OUR ROYAL KAMI WHO DOES SUCH EXCELLENT WORK BUT THIS PARTICULAR ONE HAS BEEN HAND CRAFTED BY VIM BHADUR KAMI WHO IS NEW IN OUR SHOP AND IS SHOWING SOME EXCITING TALENT. I HOPE YOU WILL BE AS PLEASED AS I AM. THE SCABBARD WHICH IS BLACK BUFFALO LEATHER IS BEAUTIFULLY INLAID ON EACH SIDE WITH 3 SILVER DRAGONS WITH SILVER HIMILAYAN PIGEONS, ONE ABOVE AND ONE BELOW THE DRAGONS. (THE PIGEONS ARE NATIVE BIRDS OF NEPAL AND ARE CALLED DAPHNES).

Jaw dropping. I'd rather own this blade than any $17k "vintage bowie".
The sword as art. I wonder what collectors are going to say about such pieces from HI 50 years from now??

I think Vim might end up being my new favorite kami (although I'll always have a soft spot for Kumar).
 
New talent arrives and watch; the regulars like Kumar will not be outdone.

Ha, Ha! Awesome post! I would prefer to join forces with the X-men though and vanquish Apocalypse! It would be the perfect blade for that!
 
I have one of these, and it is beautiful, bought second hand several years ago, but the scabbard on this one bests it hands down. Mine is a general patternwork of silver, but none of these exquisite dragons and birds, etc. The silverwork alone is worth the asking price. Really, really nice. :thumbup:

BTW, Vim is really growing as a kami. I noticed on the handle closeup that he even polished the back of the guard! That is not usually done, and is something I figure I have to do myself. Good work.

Svashtar, I also noticed that the soldering on the guard has improved a lot since the first ones I've seen.

This a beauty that's a fact.

I wonder what the old-timers will do to top it!?

Particularly nice silver carvings; being that they're unique, makes this one especially a collector's item, and a gorgeous display piece. :cool:
