OK, I managed to capture everything but forging the blade out before the memory ran out, but the major parts are in there, I hope it's clear but if anyone has any questions feel free.

Looks interesting & look forward to more-

but you could turn off the hammer & take the pacifier out of your mouth if you want us to understand what you are saying

Thanks for posting that Sam I really enjoyed it. Cool shop also but I don't think you have enough anvils!

Saurkraut flux... in Chicago it's pickles and sport peppers. :D

Why aren't you wearing your helmet????? Can't be safe enough!

Nice job, that angle iron comment made me think about the old "bed frame makes a good knife" thread from a couple years ago..... there may actually be a use for it now!

Nice job Sam. Your a natural speaker and good in front of the camera.

And no.........don't ask me if I wanna make a movie.......creep.!

Shawn

Zech, I had it all ready to mail but no address :D too bad for you I already un packed it.

Dan, glad you liked it. I have pretty much spent most of my life's significant earnings on building my shop, and no I don't have enough anvils though it is getting crowded!

Butch good to know!

Wil, you got a good memory, I had all but blocked THAT discussion out of my brain lol I'll be sure to wear the helmet for the next video :D

thank you Shawn, I dream of a life in film. You sure you don't want the lead role in "get it hot hit it hard"?

photos!

Cool video, thanks! It looks so easy on TV must be all the retakes.

Gotta love a shop that just has swords laying around. :D

Nicely forged Sam....

S. Knowles..... hmmm why is that name familiar..... hmmmmm

Sam, pulllleezzzzeeee do a bed frame samage knife while wearing your helmet... pulllleeeeezzzeeeee

Carl thanks! NO retakes that was one big take :D

Will, I have all the materials, would be a quick billet too just lay in 24" of 3/16" 1075 into a bit of angle iron......

Count, I have the adapter (just need to find it) and the card was just full is all. This one was mostly alot of cleanup on the grinder, I need to do a bunch more until I can forge these guys to shape, getting the preform is tough with so much material manipulation. After the vid I did one more billet and forged that into a cutting competition style blade so I can fully test the final material for edge retetention and toughness and all that, see what it can do.

Would be much better if you turned off hammer . Could you add audio after ??

Nice to see this Sam! Also nice to *finally* see that cute little hammer in action.

Carl: You should watch Sam forge a sword in an hour or so at Ashokan. Then watch for him
to finish it... get old and grey... keep watching :)

Robert, I'm getting used to the editing software, I'll explore that option, sorry for the poor audio.

Thanks Dan, I guess? LOL

I was able to hear and understand the dialogue well enough. Thanks for sharing, Sam. I have been a fan of your cleaver blades for a while. Thats a tough weld to get without a bunch of practice...for me it was anyway. The first time I saw it done we slotted the HC and sandwiched in most of an old broad axe head into it in an attempt at restoring the axe. I was the striker not the smith.

Hi Sam -

I was not sure what you were talking about in your other thread about the hot-dog weld, but this vid, while cool to watch, cleared that up for me.

I know it is a pita to film your work in a shop, so thanks for taking time to record and post your vid - I enjoyed watching it!

best regards -
