Here's one from the family vault, that is sure to warm on those chilly nights!!
Home Made Tom & Jerry mix:
12 eggs, separated
1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb. butter, at room temperature
3 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla, rum, or brandy flavoring
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
Beat egg whites until stiff; add salt. Beat egg yolks until light. Cream butter and powdered sugar; mix until crumbly. Add egg yolks and vanilla; mix well. Add spices. Add egg whites; beat until well blended. Will keep several weeks in refrigerator. May be frozen, if covered.
In coffee cup use 2 heaping tablespoons of batter, 1 ounce dark Rum, and top with hot water for each Tom and Jerry.
ENJOY!!
PS: My kids like it w/o the rum too!!
