Hotel reservations for the convention?

For those of us that are planning on staying in one for a night or two should we make one or is there usually vacansees at the local comfort inn?
 
Chris, I know that there is a new motel built not far from Yvsa's house. I don't know any details but I can give them a call if you like. Yvsa may have already gotten prices for the local motels. It may be best to wait for his reply. He may be able to get you better prices or at least a better selection. I can't wait to meet everyone! See ya there!!!!

There are several motels within a five minute drive of Yvsa's and I'm sure he can post some info about these. As I recall, they are not the top end expensive variety but mid range.
 
There's 2 motels very close by our place and I imagine the prices will run somewhere from $35.00 to $50.00 for one to two people, maybe even a little less for just one person.
Then there are some others a little way down the road, but in reality I think the prices will be about the same unless you want to stay at the Double Tree or similar.
Those hotels will have John Powell prices.;)
And since it's the off season I don't think anyone will have a problem getting a room.
If you're driving stop at one of the Tourist Information Centers and pick up one of their motel locators. There is one of the TIC's just down the road from our place on I-44 where you should be able to pick one up.
The reason is that there are usually coupons in those books that give discounts on room prices. Don't tell 'em you have a coupon until you get ready to pay for the room or they may jack the price up.

Thanks, Bro. I turned up the following with an AOL search for motels using Yvsa's address as my search point. The distances you see are from Yvsa's place. The search didn't turn up phone numbers but I could probably get them if anybody needs them.

You done much better than I could have.

Be sure and stop at the Visitors Center at 161st Street and I-44 to pick up the little book with the coupons and perhaps save more.
There's a Bruce's Truck Stop, Quik Trip, Arby's and the Microtel and Inn. The Visitor's Center is right in the easement by Bruce's Truck Stop.
