hotest folders right now

I don't have one. I have owned most of them at some point, but never could really warm up to them. Well made for the money though. I don't know that I would label them as THE hottest, but YMMV.

Even though it is custom the Rick Hinderer XM18 is the hottest folder on the market! THANKS! Kevin

Due to price, and availabbility at Wal-mart I would guess Chives and Leeks by Kershaw, and the Spyderco Native

Shane Sibert Pocket Rocket...can find one anywhere.

Shane doesn't do a lot of them, so they were tough to find before they got "hot". I feel that after he made more different versions of the model, ones that were fancier or had larger blades with different grinds as opposed to the original style, the interest really went through the roof.

I can't speak to the types of knives I don't have significant interest in, but the XM18 strikes me as the hottest single model, and has for a while now. It moves very quickly and often at markups a fair bit over Rick's regular price.

I looked at Arizona knives, where they have seemingly every maker known to man, and every knife made by Hinderer was labeled 'sale pending' which I believe is their way of saying 'sold.' In fact, I don't recall any RH knife listed as 'in stock' on any purveyor site. That's something that you can't say about many makers.

And RH doesn't do anything especially fancy or amazing--just pure function. Maybe a lesson therein for other makers...
