Hov to secure fasteners

I posted this on Sheats & Such forum few days ago, but I think it might be interesting specially for you, knives and hatchets carriers:

Sometimes I find an open fastener on my axe or hatchet sheath when carrying it in rucksack. Also fasteners on my knife sheats sometimes open accidentaly. I don't like that – it can be dangerous.
But not any more!

My latest axe, hatchet and knife sheats and also leather pouches are now completed with a little pocket which secure the leather end. It works great! How do you close it? First put lather end into the pocket, second, press the fastener. Simple, genial, good :)

Wonderful design... it just makes sense. Can I use this idea for a few up-comming projects? Of course, I will give you credit for the inspiration.

You should post this in the sheath subforum.

Excellent design! It is rare when a real innovation happens nowadays!

Thank you for sharing, Samek.

I love it. Hate loose ends on straps.
Your sheaths look fantastic!

I hope this is not moved into another subforum, i.e. the one for axes.
You needed an innovation and change so you came up with this,
probably while tramping through the brush.
Thank you so much, it is really a great idea.

I like it! I've been thinking of making a sheath for my double-bit axe; If I do it, I'll have to incorporate this into the design. Great idea.
