Very nice! They looked pretty far from shore, I wonder how they made it out there in the first place. That ice looked smooth as glass.
 
The deer? They went exploring without Thumper the rabbit to guide them! Maybe the wind blew them so far from shore :)
 
"James and his father saved three deer that day"...to what purpose?

James and his father should have been fined and the deer likely died anyway. Why people feel need to do things like this baffles me.

Honestly as Winter sets in and the days are short, drinking tends to go up. If you ask me, I'd say these young bucks were out all night drinking, thinking they were seeing dumbo the flying pink elephant, followed it out onto the lake where they lost track of dumbo the flying pink elephant and ran out of booze. :D

I guess we're crazy about animals and some will go out of their way to save these creatures when they can. I can't even count how many animals I have helped who were trapped in something or get them off a highway before they are killed by traffic over the decades.
 
There's always one! Like crows around a kill, waiting for the wolves to stagger off overstuffed. :p
 
I guess everybody should just ignore the hurt, stranded, and desperate and just drive/walk on by. Fortunately there are some people who have a heart and can't do that and try to help other living things. The fact that this baffles you is just plain scary!
