Please relate a story how a knife saved yours, or someone else's life.

One of mine is when I was a boy scout. We we on a canoe trip on the Illinois river near Tallequah OKlahoma. We were in some swift water and capsized. The current took us into a large driftwood pile. My buddy got sucked down under part of it and got tangled in baleing twine that had been wash down. I dove under and got out my SAK boy scouter that I had on a lanyard attached to me, and cut him free. I can't say for sure it saved him, but it didn't hurt.

Friend of mine got his shirt caught in a snowblower....had to use a razor knife to cut the shirt before the machine took his arm.

my father got a rope wrapped around his leg when setting out some recreational lobster traps. he used a serrated endura first gen. to cut it before he got pulled overboard. he was alone and if he went over he probably would have drowned.

This one's from a few decades ago...Chris, the son of one of my college instructors was attending wood-shop class in High School when another student got their shop apron strings tangled around a spindle they were turning on the lathe. The apron wrapped around the spindle and pulled the student's head and neck down against the spindle. Chris took out the pocket knife he always carried and cut the student free before any permanent damage was done. This was at the beginning of the "Zero Tolerance" days,... since he had saved a life Chris was not expelled, but he was told not to bring the knife back to school...

The night John Lennon was shot, I was on the bus heading home from a security job in a bad area. 3 or 4 guys get around me. One next to me, one in front and at least one behind. Opened my Buck 110 and at the audible click the guy next to me sez it's their stop. I thought the worst but they got off and I never went back to that job again. Not for the $4/hr they paid. Not sure if it saved my life but...

My brother was a tow truck driver , I made him a knife from a all hard highspeed steel power hacksaw blade

He used it to save a guys life ( by accident sorta ) ... got to a wreck that was looking like going up in flames real soon , wiring harness smoking up , battery boiling , fuel pump spraying fuel out a broken line , drunk driver trapped in the wreck kinda being abusive

my bro got the knife I made him and a big spanner , used the spanner to "baton" the knife thru the bonnet over the battery to get access tot he cables , cut the cables , .... stopped a lot of problems in one go , no more short circut , no more electrical fire risk , fuel pump stopped .... and the driver didnt cook alive

I asked him how he felt about aving a guys life ... he replyed that he hadnt thought of that , his concern was mainly that if the wreck burned , the job had to go to a tilt tray , and he only had a wheel lift truck .... he was saving a job , that he saved an abusive drunks life at the same time was kinda unimportant right then to him .

While visiting family down at the shore I took my dog for a walk on the beach. Long story, short is that my dog got tangled up in fishing line someone left on the beach. He was going crazy trying to get out of it. The more he twisted and turned the more it started to cut into his skin. Once I got him calm enough I managed to cut all the line off without cutting either of us. The vet cleaned him up good and luckily my bestest buddy didn't sustain any permanent damage.

While on a 2 week whirlwind drive across the USA a few years back with the wife & kids, we stopped in Az for the night. While unloading our luggage from the back of the car at 9:30pm, my wife taps me hard & says look. This guy was walking up to me, looked stoned out of his mind & says i need some money-my truck broke down-blah blah blah. I said absolutely not & to step off. He turned around, took one step, turned around again & i heard "click-yo holms, how bout i just take your fn money ?" I reached in my pocket & says "click-yo holms, how bad you want it ?" He looked at my knife & decided he must not want to get cut & took off, prob to look for an easier target. We reported it to the matra-de, she called the cops, they showed up 10 min later, looked but said they could'nt find him. I was unsure about the carry laws there for out-of-staters, so i left the part about my knife out of it. Too bad we can't CC firearm in all 50 states, then he would have brought a knife to a gun fight & well, we all know how that usually ends.

My knife was a Gerber Freeman folder.

Passersby rescue kids in icy river crash
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Former police officer Chris Willden didn't hesitate when he realized children were trapped in an upside down car in an icy Utah river. He pulled his handgun, pushed it up against the submerged windows and shot out the glass.
One of the girls had found an air pocket and was breathing fine but was trapped in her seat belt. Willden cut it with a pocket knife and pulled her from the rear passenger window.

when i was a little younger i was with a buddy celebrating my bday anywho we were walking on this bridge when these kids biggerthan us at the time and stumbling drunk (or maybe not with alcohol alone) started looking at us and cussing so my buddy got a little over zealous and called them out the kids were in a canoe and started grabbing their paddles and said they would come ashore and kick our asses

now i didnt usually but at the time i had a 51/2-6/12 in tanto balisong so i pulled it opened it in as flashy a manner as i could snapped the latch on the handle and stuck it in the wood of the bridge and said something along the lines of "oh yea you do and i will cut you so bad your mom wont be able to identify your corpse" and gave my friend that look that says stfu and then those guys went on their merry way

what they didnt know is that it was a bear and sons bali that was so dull i couldn't cut its way out of a paper bag ( came dull and then i ran it along a stone cause i was randomly bleeding playing with it)

i figure what their drunken buts dont know wont hurt me

idk if it saved a life but it defiantly saved someone some pain weather them or us (although if that didnt cut it i did have a really sharp fullsize griptillian that was ready to rock if need be hey they have wooden paddles and had a good 35-40 lbs on either of us)

I was hiking on a bike trail near a river and some crack heads came out of the bushes and demanded I give them my money,so I pulled out my big bowie knife and told them I will slice their throat, they got spooked and ran away.
