I know I brought this up before and many shot this down saying that is what the rc-3 is for. But I think the rc-3 is a completely different knife compared to the Izula. If the Izula is one of the biggest seller for rat I would imagine a 4 inch izula would be right up there.

The more and more I use this great knife, I see how an extra inch would take it to a whole new level.

I still think that the current Izula is good enough, or maybe you wanna get a RAT 4.
Nice job on the coating removal by the way.

Isn't the HEST kind of along those lines? A larger blade on a knife with a handle that can a skeleton or cord wrapped.

I think that when you go up in size (Bigger blades), a handle (Micarta, G-10, wood, etc) becomes more needed due to heavier duty tasks, light chopping, etc. Just a thought.

I think the Izula is perfect for what it is. In my opinion. any different dimensions changes something. A little longer, not as comfortable of a neck knife, and I like to use it as such. :)

Yeah the Izu fills the neck knife niche it should stay as such. Plus it would make another Sku for the guys to keep up with!:D

I think that a 4" model would be great! I think with an extra inch would give it that much more capability. Great idea!!!

They could even put a handle on it and call it the RC4!!!

So there is the answer. Buy an RC-4 (knife #1) or take the slabs off (knife #2) and wrap the handle. Then you have a Giant Izula. Look at the versatility of the RC-4. What more could you ask for?

Why a 4" Izula and not an RC-4? What exactly are the different specs that you have cooking up in your mind? Because honestly, I'd see it not selling as well as the Izula or RC-4. The price would most likely be the same as the RC-4 and it'd have no handle slabs (wait for the requests for handle slabs on a 4" Izula...) and it might have a blade that's less wide than the RC-4's. I just don't see why someone would choose a 4" Izula over the RC-4. I'm pretty sure the Izula is as popular as it is because more people buy them due to the lower price, if you make a larger version of the knife it'll be more expensive and there goes the appeal of it to those people that liked the price point.

I could go with the Izula having a slightly longer handle, but I can live with the way it is now because it's a great design and it works. If you want a larger blade, get an RC-4.

I think you're basically asking for an RC-3 without the choil and slabs. Personally I like the Izula the way it is and I like the Choil on the RC-4.

Folks don't take too kindly to Izula recommendations around here, the Izula is perfect, as i am sure you will learn. :D

Not that it's perfect , it's just when you change what it is, it isn't what it is anymore.
