Alright....I have a question. I am sure that some of you knife knuts will know the answer.

If a Man (or woman) has been convicted of a misdemeanor, can the spouse of the individual still posess guns in the home?

I think the best bet would be to check with your local D.A.'s office. I am to believe that it is legal for them to possess a firearm unless it is a felony. AGAIN, this is only my thought. Your best option is to discuss it with you local District Attorney's office and if applicable, check with probation officer.

Most states allow a person convicted of a misdemeanor to still own firearms.

I can tell you what my home state of Illinois told my older brother when his 20 year old son was convicted of a drug felony.

"If he still lives in your home you MUST remove your firearms from your house, he cannot live in the same house with firearms as a convicted felon in this state."

Under federal law, certain misdemeanors involving domestic incidents or a domestic restraining order result in permanent loss of firearms priviledges. These are the only misdemenaors of which I am aware that cause firearms prohibitions.
