Not sure how many of you saw Bruce Evans post the other day RE:What else can go wrong...
I called bruce today and he really is having some challenges staying afloat.
Mr Murphy seems to have really #$%% on him the past few weeks.

Anyway with as much help as he has given to so many of us I think we owe him at least a thanks.

I am sure he could use some heart felt encouragement right about now:D

How about it I think he's a great guy who makes the knifemaking community a better place.

Thanks Bruce

Without question...

Bruce is a hell of a guy. It's the guys like Bruce that really help to allow for knifemaking to take new heights. As has been said before, we would accomplish nothing that we have without standing on the shoulders of those before us... but the cool thing is Bruce is still climbing himself.

I'm not a real religious type of guy, but I'll tell you one thing: good things happen to good people, and Bruce is good people :)

No worries, it all works out!
Nick

Having had a share of run ins with Mr.Murphy... I think he needs an axx kicking. :D
Bruce...put on some steel toed boots and start in on him.Give him a shot in the nards for me too!
Really...Thanks for all the info you've shared.

Come on forumites, who in here has'nt benefited from Bruce's threads and tutorials and willingness to share his skills and knowledge? Let him know you care and put him and his family on your prayer list!
Things will turn for you Bruce, hang in there and keep kickin!

Hey, Bruce! Hope things turn around for you quickly.

I appreciate all of you input and advice. You're one of the guys that's been really helping me progress. :D Thanks! :D

Mike

Hey Bruce, look on the bright side, at least you aren't one of those Pakistani guys forging over a hole in the ground with a hair drier for a blower ;)

Shop talk hasn't been quite the same for the past couple of weeks. I've really been missing seeing Bruce's new Bowie of the week and reading his sage advice. Don't worry man, the tough times will pass, they always do.

Bruce,

I want to thank you for your generosity of guidance that you've given me and others on this form, It's people like you, that make it a pure pleasure for me to be a part of this form. ;)
Thanks and wishing you the best
Bill

Bruce hard times come, and hard times go. If you persist the path will go through the stormy parts of life and return to the sunshine again. When you get right down to the nitty gritty of it all - the primary thing that counts is family. Everything else is like the annoying fly that keeps buzzing your head. Don't let the trials and tribulations of life beat you down.

Last friday, the 10th, was my birthday. I was 52 years old. As life has never been too easy for me there are a few things I have learned.
Life works in cycles.
What is, will pass...what has been will come again.
There will be times when you can do nothing wrong..enjoy it.
There will be times when you can do nothing right...endure it.
I read this somewhere recently.."When you are the hammer...strike! When you are the anvil...endure."
Remember the part in the bible that says "take no thought for the morrow." Well, its true. And it continualy amazes me. There have been times when I have been dead broke and didn't know how I was going to pay the bills, or the rent, or even how I was going to feed me and the kid, but something always came up.....something always comes up.
And then there was the time I was broke and my ex and I were having problems and my truck broke down...and then...damn...my kid got kidnapped. As you can imagine, that narrowed my worries down to just one...the only one that really mattered. But I got him back and he's just fine.
How is your lady and your kids? They are all that really matter.
God is watching...he just wants to see what you are made of. And He has those guardian angels to help when you need it the most.
Now lets make some knives.

cheer up Bruce....things could be worse!!! :)
OOOOOPPPPPSSS ......you probably already heard that one...
How about going down to the courthouse and changing your name to Rockefeller!! :)
Actually.....Chuck Smith always says for every 99 people who can handle adversity there is only one who can handle fame and fortune, look at Hollywood to see how true that is.....and then LOOK UP>
BEST WISHES....Tom

I would like to voice my support for Bruce as well. He has answered several questions for me and always gives a thorough answer even though I am only a beginner/hobbyist. He spends a great deal of time answering questions on the forum and communicates with us beginners as well as the pros. I hope things look up for Bruce soon and I look forward to seeing him back on the forum.

Dan

Bruce has helped me out several times on the forum and has even taken the time to email me with more help. I know things will get better! Take care of the things that really matter and the rest usually falls in place. Hang in there, we need your voice around here!

Guy Thomas

Bruce I also want to thank you for being the great person you are. You go more than the extra mile to help us all and I appreciate you. Things will be better very soon. Bruce B

Bruce hang in there. Stiff upper lip, chin out, shoulders back. I can honestly say been there seen that done that. Opened a store, lost the store, sold most of my guns to pay the bills, just about lost the house and a few more dearer things.
Trust me!!!!
Life does get better!!!!
You are a driving force here and remain as such.

I've been awfully busy this week and missed the post. I also can't find it but from the sound of it Bruce has problems. I'd like to throw my support to Bruce. I have developed a lot of respect for him, not only as a true craftsman, but as just damn good person. If the world had more of his type we would not be in the mess we are in now.

I'm not sure how I can help but if anyone comes up with solutions that they need help on, please contact me.
