Over the year and a half I've been frequenting BladeForums there has been one forum that has managed to avoid most of the rules violations and unpleasantness in a particularly friendly and fatherly manner. I think the credit for that should go to Gus Kanazis for his amazing grace under fire.

I guess this is sort of like thanking your high school English teacher for putting up with you.

I've never known you to be anything but generous with your time, your patience, and your support--both for this forum and for your fellow blade lovers. I think that's a pretty good definition of a gentleman.

I think that what has happened in this forum has a loy to do with respect. The respect that Gus has shown the rest of us has been returned to him, and IMHO no one on these forums deserves it more.

It sure would be nice if the rest of the forums could be a bit more like the Custom Knife Forum.

So let me tip a glass of fine 18 year old whisky to you Gus and offer you my gratitude for a job well done.

I think Gus has shown himself to be an excellent example as a Moderator and as a Person.

Gus keeps his cool, always manages to make a calm, informed decision (or arbitration) even when others involved are agitated. Gus utilizes his excellent vocabulary to make his point and rarely (if ever) resorts to the uneducated use of fowl language to publicly make his point.

No Handholding, Spit Swappin or false praise here, just basic facts!

This is my favorite knife spot on the web (and the Tom and Jerry show over at KF). Things are always pleasant and fun here, I just wish I had a few of Gus' blades (esp. that Gene Osborne folder!)
 
Yup. Gotta say that through all the moderators Gus is one of the most top notch.
