since esee is looking to give away more prizes why not something like that? each (rat pack/paid member/verified combo) member gets to submit one thread at the end of each month. tally the votes up and the winning author gets a prize but they can't nominate their own thread.

bear the dog is exempt. he'll pommel every other thread out there on a monthly basis :eek: :D
 
This initially sounds like a good idea, but we attempted something like this when I was back in school for "bonus points" The problem was that the first month or two everyone had really good posts, then after that the "great" ideas were "used up" and the remaining contests became full of lame attempts at good posts. But it could work once of twice.
