How about a neck knife

Want a neck knife for wade fishing, cross country running, and mountain biking. What do you recommend? Budget <$150. Thanks.

I don't know much about them honestly, but the new Hogue neckers look like a great value to me, 154cm steel, around $65. 2 blade styles too.

KAEDC, I looked those up and I like! That does sound like a great buy and a good suggestion to the OP's needs.

If they are made anything like the Hogue folders they will be excellent quality. Hogue is one of the very few gun affiliated companies that actually have their name on some very quality knives.

I was gonna recommend an ESEE also, either an Izula I or II or the smaller Candiru. Izula II pictured with Candiru below.

I don't carry a neck knife but if I did a Buck Hartsook be on my list. May be a small sub 2in blade but it's a fixed blade in s30v that is extremely light and when running or biking I'd rather be wearing something light I forget about than a larger/heavier knife.

There are a lot of good options out at the moment. I prefer my neckers on the smaller side if theh are actually gonna be worn around the neck. I may have to try the Hogue myself.

Izula
Candiru
Hogue exf03 (think that's the model)
BK 11 or 14
Scrapivore

Many neck knives fit that budget; too many to name!
FWIW, the Candiru is very small. I like mine, but not my first choice for an all-around necker.
Got the new Hogue EX-Fo3 on the way! Looks very ergonomic, but I would expect nothing less from Elishewitz!
Honorable mentions:
Becker BK-11 Necker
Izula
Buck Hartsook and Buck Mayo Kaala
Etc.

I own several neck knives and carry them on a regular basis. My overall favorites are made by Brous Blades, the Silent Soldier. I carry the original shapes (V1 andV2) as well as the Ranger. I have them in various blade shapes and finishes. His most recent versions have been thinned somewhat making for lighter carry. He has also added a tang that allows you to really lock in. He uses D2 steel which is fine but I wish other steels like 154CM were also offered. SOG does a collaboration version which can be had for around $35, an excellent value. Original Brous' generally range from $80 to $150.

I also like the CRKT Folts Minimalist. The ergonomics are excellent on a knife that is very light. Four or five blade profiles are offered. Very economically priced.

Another favorite is the Benchmade 160. They are discontinued but do show up now and then. Just saw one up for auction today.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Still considering my options, but I may have to break down and get a few, wear the one I like and put the rest away for a rainy day.

TOPS knives street scalpel is great.
My bk14 is cool too...
but my favorite is my custom kiridashi.

The fred perrin le kiridashi, and his bowies look great, and ill be getting one soon.

Not the modern looking but the grohman bird and trout is wonderful when used as a neck knife
