One thing I've noticed about this forum - we don't talk enough about the one-piece range of CRK's.

So, how about you guys post any random pics you have of 'em... especially the Ubejane (the ugly darling). I know we have the gallery - but, dang; it seems to remain without new pictures for a long time.

Thanks much!

Those are sweet. I have the Ubejane ( best hunting knife I have ever used ). Gotta get a Nyala, they look awsome.

I'll do you one better, I will take an updated pic of my whole One Piece Collection tomorrow, stay tuned !!!

In the meantime, check out my old pic in my CRK Timeline, I have subtracted a few, and added a few....

Thanks for giving me an excuse to play with them tomorrow :D

Looking forward to pictures of your collection!

Thanks.

It's a model name for one of the now discontinued one-piece knives that was designed to be a skinning/game knife.

Awesome pictures, Haze!

Thanks very much for posting them. What do you seem to use yours most often for? Looks like a great hiking blade too besides it's skinning design.

You would be right ! I have found it to be a great little bushcraft knife, I don't get as much use out of it as I probably should though. As you can see in the first pic I posted the blade shape is very close to the Nyala. I have found they are some what long lost brothers, one fatter with a larger nose though. :p

The only down side would be the weight, it is pretty heavy for such a small knife but to be honest it is of little concern if you are just hiking for a day or two. The weight actually gives it a nice feel in the hand and good control during use as well. For me it's second only to the Mtnr 2 and frankly that's not by much.

The Skinner is a nice knife for sure, but I think the one in thses pics will be a Scout soon enough though. ;)

Question for all you fellow Ubejane owners. When I draw it from the sheath I always feel like I am scraping the blade across the snap. Feel like the coating will wear off... any tricks to it or am I being silly?

The best way I have found is to use your thumb to hold the leather tap away from the blade for the first third and then it stays out the way for the rest of the knife. Also angle the knife away from your body to avoid the other half of the snap on the sheath.

The coating will come off any way if you use the knife so I wouldn't be too bothered about that. I did get rather fed up with the snap slightly rolling the edge off my knife though so I just went with some kydex. That solved all the problems. :)

I've had an Ubejane for years. Love it.
I actually designed a new style leather sheath for it and the guys at Gfeller Casemakers in Idaho actually agreed to make it for me.
I'll have to get pics up for you.
