How about a review of the EDC in Talonite

Is the new Camillus EDC in Talonite worth the extra $100/$120?
I really want to check out a knife with a Talonite blade, and the EDC looks nice and has been getting some good reviews and it's relatively cheap for a Talonite blade. But for almost $200 for a production knife, I am starting to think that I could get a nicer (probably used) custom with a Talonite blade (it's really the Talonite that I'm interested in) and be happier in the long run (all new knifes become used eventually). I am of the mind that I would rather have a used top of the line item (cars for example) than a new mediocre product. Now that's not to say that I think Camillus makes mediocre products ( I even own a few ), just that I don't think, and they would probably admit, they would/could not compare to a custom.
Am I living in a fantasy world thinking that I might be able to find a custom knife with a Talonite blade for something under/around $400 or so? Or should I just buy the EDC before all of the Talonite models are gone and save some $$$?

Logan,
Welcome to the forums! If you have the cash, custom is awesome. Yes, with a little checking, you can find a used talonite blade for $400 or even a new Chimera for $425. HOWEVER, you can order the Camillus for about $150! That is about 1/3rd the price!;)
I have one on the way and I am sure you will see a good many reviews on it soon!!

I will be going for one of the EDC Talonite knives myself soon.

The street price of $150 is not that bad, but it is high for a small knife, still...

I think this is the perfect size, style and shape for a Talonite knife. Just about 3" with a recurve:p !

...Is a Mayo Large TNT....:D

I do not miss the money I would have saved buying a "CHEAPER" Talonite knife. (How many pennies a day do you really need to save to be "richer"!!!

Less than 2 months ago I bought Standard Chimera directly from Deryk for 360.00 USD (shipping included). Great knife for the money!!

Thanks for the info, I might just hold out and see if I can't find something a little nicer, but used.
