Is the new Camillus EDC in Talonite worth the extra $100/$120?
I really want to check out a knife with a Talonite blade, and the EDC looks nice and has been getting some good reviews and it's relatively cheap for a Talonite blade. But for almost $200 for a production knife, I am starting to think that I could get a nicer (probably used) custom with a Talonite blade (it's really the Talonite that I'm interested in) and be happier in the long run (all new knifes become used eventually). I am of the mind that I would rather have a used top of the line item (cars for example) than a new mediocre product. Now that's not to say that I think Camillus makes mediocre products ( I even own a few ), just that I don't think, and they would probably admit, they would/could not compare to a custom.
Am I living in a fantasy world thinking that I might be able to find a custom knife with a Talonite blade for something under/around $400 or so? Or should I just buy the EDC before all of the Talonite models are gone and save some $$$?
