I read where the OVB line is supposed to be made up of higher end traditionals. I would love to see Camillus come out with some slipjoints with jigged bone scales, and the same carbon steel used in the Fisk Bowie. What do you guys think?

Coonskinner,
That is just he kinda knives that OVB will be all about. We have talked about possible future models including traditional slipjoints. The whole concept of the OVB line would mandate natural handle materials and most likely carbon steel. We will see where this takes us, but, let's get the first models shipped first, OK;) Then we will move on to the next introduction.

Thanks for the interest!

Dayumed Straight!!!!!!! Now that would be what you could call a "pocket Knife!!!!"
I would like a Large Trapper with say 3 3/4" blades!!!!!!!:)

Large Toothpick(Arkansas or Texas?) with 41/2 - 5"
blade of 52100 would float my boat! :D :D

I got one of the Tortise handled Trappers with Carbon blades a couple years ago, it would fit right in, very very cool knife! Trappers are still one of my favorite knives.

Just the thought of premium slipjoints (from Camillus even!!) sends
my pulse racing. This development will bear very close watching.

Rob, I've got the same knife. I picked it up when I was down at A.G. Russell's showroom. It is a grat knife, but I would like it even better with jigged bone scales and the better carbon steel. Not that there is a thing wrong with 1095.

Yahoo! Someone is listening out there. This is what I need. Carbon steel, bone scaled slipjoints. Just what the doctor ordered. I want a whittler and a congress, but a stockman will do.

While all the above models certainly are appealing, my vote would have to go to a 3 1/4" split-back wharncliffe whittler wearing some nice MOP scales and 52100. A "Sunday" knife if ever there was one :)

Large Muskrat with 2 4" blades, 52100, 1 wharncliffe & 1 clip & fossil ivory scales.

P.S. Large Stockman would be nice too!

If Camillus would undertake a project like this, it shouldn't take near as long as the Fisk Bowie. They already have all the tooling for some basic slipjoint patterns. All they should have to do for starters is upgrade the materials, and perhaps pay a little closer attention to fit and finish. But even at that, the Camillus slipjoint I have is fine in the finish department, excellent for a production slipjoint.

Maybe if they had good success with some of their current patterns, they'd consider making Trapper with one wharncliffe and one Spey blade...

Make a couple of stockmen, a large one and a medium one! Dark brown bone and nickle silver bolsters!

Steve

A pearl-handled gunstock with gold trim and a long pointy wharncliffe and a clip point blade.
