How about a Talonite bladed Strider Folder (collaboration w/T.Mayo)

Man, I got a Strider GB a couple of weeks ago and I carry this thing everywhere (yes even church). I simply can't go anywhere without it. I just wish that you could order the Strider GB or AR with a talonite blade. Talonite is my favorite steel for several reasons. I like it because you can use it around saltwater enviroment without fear of rust and talonite takes an edge and holds it very well. The only downside to talonite is it can't be heat treated, therefore you wouldn't have the tiger stripes :( How about if the Strider guys and Tom Mayo collaborate on a special folder. I would want this to be a big folder like the AR or the GB. Tom could grind the blades and the Strider guys can make the handles. This would be sort of like the collaboration between Rob Simonich and Darrel Ralph (Talonite EDC). I think, wait, I know it would be a huge hit. You could make 10 of them numbered and take orders for the rest. What about it guys? Please please please. I know I would buy atleast 2 of them.

NCBlades, you most certainly can do the Strider Stripes on Talonite. All you have to do is put the finished blade before handles in the furnace and heat to 1100 degrees and let it scale a bit and you have a scale much like the Strider guys have before they put their stripes on. It works great.
 
Hey Rob, thanks for the info. I didn't know that. I know talonite ain't cheap, but I would love to see atleast a limited run of these. What do you think?

It would be great if this has a "Mayhole" instead of thumbstuds. Stellite would be a bettter (much cheaper) alternative to Talonite in this thickness.

Put me down for one. Can I get it with an upside down serial number to match my AR?
 
I keep hearing stories about people wanting 1/4" thick talonite and how they are going to order some etc etc etc.....but so far its all bullsh_t.........so I will stick with the TNT model and let Mick and Duane build their knives the way they want to......... :)

Rob - would you like to try this, Strider GB, Talonite Blade,Tiger stripes, TAD thumbstud - awesome, when can I have mine?

MAYO is a big pus ..... er...he's a big CAT. Yep, that's what he is.

Guess the .250 stuff is too much for him...

Number 032 (no inverted 2 on my keyboard) is NOT for sale. Just don't let Tom do anymore numbering, no more problems.
 
Well first off edmoses, Talonite is not available in 1/4" thickness, 3/16ths is as thick as it gets. It would be cool though, but I wont make Talonite blades for Strider knives due to integrity issues. :)
