How about a waved Civilian

I have been seeing the new, waved Delicas and Enduras. I am glad that Spyderco has incorporated this feature into some of their knives. What I would really like to see is a waved Civilian. Since this is a purely self-defense knife, it makes sense to do something that would enable someone to open this knife as fast as possible.

What do you think?
 
Here's what I know of a "waved" Civilian. The newer models have holes drilled that all allow both tip down and tip up carry.

On the old SDF boards there was a fella that "waved" his Civilian and had good results. By waved I mean he removed a section of the blade at the spyderhole creating a large hook.

While it is doable, there was one comment that stuck in my mind: The length of the blade made waved operation "difficult", in that it ripped through a couple pieces of clothing on a mis-draw. Just plain SCARY :eek:

The smaller Civilian (the Matriarch?) was mentioned as an alternative.

Personally having owned a Civi and done a few wave mod's myself, I couldn't do it. The blade is a very unique and has a focused mission, nothing is gained by waving it IMHO.
 
They work fine when modified also. I've done three now for some policemen I know. Its kind of funny they call this one the Civilian because the only guys I know carrying it are all LEO.

Well I stand corrected :o

I've got to hand it to you STR :D those are slick. Nothing like the getto waved Civi I saw. Nice work and I may have to drop you a line about some mod's in the near future.
