Hi Boker guys,
I wonder would it be ever possible to see in future a Trance version with Titanium handle?
Trance is one of my favorite EDCs, the design is superb, but I'd love to see it upgraded with premium materials like Ti handle and some fancy steel (heck, even 440C would do).

yes, Marketing, you got me right.

I think that such a version of Trance with Titanium handle and framelock and 440C steel (like a Ti-Subcom that you've just released) would be a true hit for knife aficionados. Especially if you manage to keep its price at a moderate level, say within the range of $80-90.

I'd see it as a very strong alternative to Spyderco Sage 2 in titanium.
I thought of buying Spyderco Sage 2 but when I saw Boker Subcom released in titanium, I wondered that if you produced a Titanium Trance I would prefer it over Sage due to Trance's superb ergonomics and flipper opening.

I would buy one 110% that' s for sure. Would be even better if it were then made in Solingen, but that will probably stay a dream...But I' d still get one, the Trance is one of the bet folder designs ever imo, and those materials would make it even better:)

It is hard to compare a Sage with a Trance!
The Sage is an awesome knife, ti-handle and framelock AND S30V blade!
I think it goes for 250 or something???
So, the Trance would not "fight in the same league"...
I think, first step would be, to see, how the TiSubcom is accepted by the market.
Step 2: Think about adding one more "Premium CLB" for example a Trance
Step 3: if the success of the Subcoms and Trance is unbroken... we could think about making a "limited prodcution run" in Germany.

BUT, you all have to know, it will be to at a higher price level...

THanks for your support!

Tobias

If you are considering an upgraded CLB, how about the M-Type. It just begs to be made with thicker G-10 and a Ti framelock. Maybe a steel like 154CM?

Well, I, as a consumer would pay the extra bit for a premium CLB with better steel and made in Solingen. I really love the Trance I've been carrying it a lot recently especially when I'm in a need of a concealed carry. So if a premium version is made I would definitely pick it up.

Tobias and other guys thanks for your replies.

with regard to Trance and what next CLB model to choose for upgrade let me tell you I've seen dozens of customized Trances in the Internet with scales of different shapes and colours in different woods and polymers. I've also seen just a pair of customized Subcoms, not more. I can't remember of any M-Type customized. that speaks for the popularity of the Trance design, doesn't it. that's food for thought for you Boker guys when things would come to choosing next CLB model for premium upgrade.

I personally would not like to see Trance made in Solingen with CPM steel because I know for sure the price of the knife would go in that case sky-high. Boker Plus managed to release a titanium Subcom at catalog price of $50, obviously a titanium Trance would be more expensive. but if not too expensive, this knife would be a market success.

Spyderco Sage 2 MSRP is $260 (nobody buys at that price :) ), the street price is $150-165 and although expensive people buy it.
Conceptually Sage and Trance are similar - both are small EDC type, framelocks, 3-inch blades. Trance has superb egros but lacks in my opinion some charm of premium components at least a titanium handle to render it more intrinsic value. And if upgraded that way, that would make Trance a strong competitor to Sage if the price is kept low.
