Anyone got some pics they'd like to share? Been reading up a little on these and as I understand it Buck intended for them to be used more in the processing of big game rather than chopping/splitting firewood but I still think they are pretty neat and would like to add some to my collection.

This is the only one that I have. It's from '97 and I've never used it for anything. :o

I have one similar to the one above but a bit older. It has a crack in the wooden handle. I believe they are plated or chromed, so I don't think they were meant to split wood.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing. I gather the small, teardrop shaped opening is for pulling nails? What kind of wood is that? I've seen some listings that state the sheath has a "self sharpening" feature?

My old 106. This is one my wife found for me in a hardware store display case years ago in southern Illinois. It`s marked BUCK 106 U.S.A.

The top one is the last edition - 1 of 3000.

The 106 is a hunting hatchet, not made for splitting wood or anything else. And I think the tear drop cut out is made for hanging up.

Thanks for all the great photos! Was reading up on these a bit last night in the archived newsletters on the our BCCI site and it mentions that towards the end of production they changed the design a bit to take the 106 from basically a cleaver to more of a camp ax configuration but I don't know what exactly the change or changes entailed? Perhaps a thicker head?

I do know what after seeing these pics I sure want one, or two or.......
