Standard issue ConEd pliers :) and SwAK.
After having the pliers fall out of the sheath and noiselessly hit the sand, (I was lucky to find them) they are now dummy corded with phone wire to the sheath or my bag.

Good thread. Needle nose pliers are an essential piece of gear.

Thanks dttomcat. Ebbtide, that was a very "Van Staal" move. Good idea. Of course, if I had a pair of these, I'd probably have them strapped off three ways to Sunday. :D

As much I fish, you'd think I'd have a knife/plier combo but I don't. I say must say thank for the good idea though Guyon. I looked up the Van Staal very nice but just a few pennies too much for my budget, i might just go with the Rapala ones myself!

My knife pliers combo is a leatherman.

I was going to say the same thing. My Charge TTi pliersworked great for unhooking that flounder a few weeks ago. It would have been more difficult to fillet with that, though.

I usually just use a Buck 110 and a pair of Stanley needlenose pliers, but then again I'm only catching bluegills, crappie, largemouth, some Arkansas cats, and a few turtles. Those Van Staal pliers do look pretty nice

For Fishing I'll carry an El Cheapo yellow handle Fishing slip joint and a pair of (just as cheap) long nose Needle Nose pliers.

Things I don't mind losing in the lake. :D

El cheapo here too. Berkly fillet knife and Remington bird & trout combo. I keep them back to back bound with the parachord slip knots. I just replaced whatever was in the front pocket with the crock stick and forceps. Less than $10 for the whole deal, and after reprofiling the blades it's a nice little setup. The skinner had a 30 degree edge bevel NOT inclusive and the fillet knife didn't terminate anywhere along the edge. Wonder why they were on sale...
