I read the thread about the ugliest knife, to my surprise found the Sebenza in there(Geee it looks gorgeous to me:rolleyes:), The Spiderko definetly goes in that category.

But how about the prettiest folders on the market? I would like to start with the CR Mnandi, What`s your $0.02 worth?

Thnx
Alex

Now that is even more personal than the ugliest!

I think the BM AFCK is beautiful! ;)

But I would agree with the CRK Mnandi and I would also add most any William Henry knife.

Eventho some folks might think of it as a "plain folder", I like the looks of my SOG Tomcat, with the polished stainless bolsters & pommel and the Kraton inserts. Also, while not "pretty", I think that the PE Spyderco stainless Delica is "cute".:).

I'm going to have to go with the folder that I took delivery on today, the Emerson production CQC-8.

Very nice looking folder....

I nominate my new Farid T-1000...it's just so pretty with all of those polka-dots (that's "pretty" in a macho, manly sort of way :) )

The prettiest I own is a Protech with a great Damascus blade and some fancy etch work by Bruce Shaw on the anodized titanium sections of the handle. The main area of the handle is lovely mother of pearl and the whole thing is beautifully integrated. I'm not much into buying "look-but-don't-touch" knives; however this is my exception. For a plain but very functional folding fighting knife, I have a beautiful but evil-looking Reese Weiland Wasp with a ray skin covered handle. Very sexy and something you don't want to see in the other guy's hand.

Same here. If talking handmades, I'd have to say that my prettiest knife is a small damascus folder with filework everywhere - even the filework has filework, along with beautiful black-lip Mother of Pearl scales. It was made by retired MasterSmith Wayne Valachovic.

BTW...Blade - I was born and raised across the bay from you in Salinas. Small world..

Would be great to encourage makers to produce better and better knifes, I imagine it as a poll and the knife that gets the most votes win.

Has this been done before?

Just another $0.02

Okay, strictly looks, and well known production folders. Let's not even consider functionality.

OVERALL: This is going to be an upset but the winner is the CRKT Howard Viele Wasp. I don't even own one, nor want one, but I think it's a knock out. IMO, The Limited Edition carbon fiber version made in Switzerland is even nicer and should be in the Museum of Modern Art.

Runners up:

Above $200 - The Microtech Kestrel - so cool looking, it's almost sick!

Between $100 to $200 - That Benchmade 920 that Mental Patient posted. It's beyond beautiful, it's sublime. It's the Heidi Klum of production folders. I'd also say the Benchmade Ares is mighty "purdy".

Under $100 - The CRKT Brian Tighe Tighe Tac. Classy like an Armani suit, but less than $50!

AND "BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER" AWARD:

The stainless steel handled, all serrated, Spyderco Police. "What the f...?", is what you're probably thinking.

If you want a menacing looking knife, if you want a knife that goes good with (as I said at the Spyderco thread) a '69 Camaro, and a raunchy girlfriend who looks a little like Madchen Amick riding shotgun. Think how cool that tapered stainless steel handle would look sticking up from the back pocket of your Levis.

The SS serrated Police looks like a psychotic barracuda with an attitude problem looking to eat some guppies. It exudes that same nasty vibes you get from a pearl handled, straight edged razor tucked inside a boot!

One of my prettiest knives is the Buck Koji folder. A little jewel of a knife !

The BM 690 with the rosewood and carbon fiber has got the be the prettiest production knife that I've ever seen.
