Jerry I think I finally have a knife idea that may actually be worth making. I think if you took the standard black micarta Working Hog Cultellus and lengthened the blade from its small 3.5” to a whopping 6” or even up to 8” inches on length, or you could make both while keeping the blade .125 thick. I think that this could be a very popular knife and would be popular with hunters that like to process their own animals and become a staple in every hog’s kitchen.
Thanks for talking time out of your day to look at my idea.

It sounds great, but I had heard that there was a good many knives lost due to warpage on the thin N.I.C.K. knives, so it might not be worth trying again. :(

I'd go with a 5" blade at 1/8" as being ideal for a utility/sporting blade with enough strength and size for most chores. After 5" to 6" I like 3/16" to 0.20" thickness to cover all the bases on utility chores. The Terror Monkey at 0.20" and 7-5/8" long is just short of the max for length of a blade of this thickness. Not that I thing an Anorexic Battle Mistress at 10" wouldn't fill a special need and perform excellently I feel it would also lose some performance capabilities that the standard BM has currently. According to hunting knives from the 19th century even 1/8" is thick in comparison.

Yep, right after the folder, and the Kuk:D Seriously, I do think it's a good idea.

Good comments from someone who obviously uses knives. If Busse put out a 5 inch knife, 0.125 inches thick, satin blade finish, and some good handle options, I would be a happy man.

The Special Presentation NARKs were only 0.15" thick. They make a great multipurpose knife but didn't exactly set sales records.
