Hi guys.

Just throwing an idea.

As HI is "special" in BF, and a lot of people here are real khuk sharks. Why isn't there an exchange section only for HI products?

These days, a lot of khuks come and go. Since a big company like Buck has it's own exchange area, and HI is much more "specialized" that Buck is, don't you think there should be a special section in HI, like the Cantina?

Just an idea from a guy who needs to sleep.

i dont know about that... not many khuks are available in the exchange to be honest...

i do however think busse should have a dedicated exchange forum :)

I have thought of this idea before when the Buck one came up. Unlike Buck or Busse though, HI are in fact quite rare to find in the exchange normally. The recent surge in the last month is really an oddity.

A different forum for Busse would be nice to keep from seeing 20 or so Busses on one page, but since the folks on the Bussie forum don't want it I doubt it will happen.

Regarding Busses; they're great knives, made by great people, but many of the buyers seem to get them as pure safe queens and never use the stinking things. So when money gets tight, or the desire for a new shiny toy comes along, they get the axe. It happens with HI products too, but I think a higher percentage of them get used, which degrades value, and the market isn't as big. Just a thought.

Kurt is right. I don't collect Busses. Not because I don't like them (i REALLY REALLY do;)) I just can't afford their prices. Busses are in such high demand that they become instantly collectable. When the Busse forum has some sort of blow out sale for the hogs, these blades can literally be sold minutes later for a huge profit on the exchange. Likewise, I use my HI blades as well. There isn't a one of them in over 40 products that I haven't used in some form. I use my HI's so hard that what I could get for them by selling them is far outweighed than the good will i feel just passing them along to friends.

Once you proliferate separate brand sales forums, you lose customers. Only people who like those brands end up checking them out, and the casual buyer or eclectic buyer continues to browse only the general sales forums.

Busse is a special situation. They are good user knives, but they are manufactured in so many variants, each essentially a sprint run, that each is unique. They are like Case, artificially collectible. Unlike most collectible knives, they hold or increase their value.

So when a new & attractive variant comes out, the sales of the older or multiples go wild, raising cash to stay in on the Ponzi scheme. :)
