how are case bowies?

I have one, they are a pretty good knife. The bad points as I see them are:

1) They're pretty heavy compared to modern knives.
2) The handle is a bit on the short and fat side(I've got pretty big hands too). It can be a a little slippery when it's wet. I'd say in the same class as polished Micarta, or the usual cheaper machete handle.

3) The large guard hangs up on stuff.

My model is an older C-V steel model by the way. If your looking for a working knife, I'd look at an older Western W-49. Same type of knife, but the handle is a much nicer design:).
