How are hawk cutting edges measured?

From point to point "as the crow flies" or along the curvature of the blade from point to point?

I believe it's "as the crow flies", i.e. in a straight line from point to point. There is an illustration of this measurement method in A Basic Manual on Tomahawk Throwing from the American Mountain Men Association. Maybe someone else will come along who can confirm.
