How are Knives of Alaska?

When I sold knives, I sold more KOA's to hunters than anything else. They use mostly D2 nowadays. They have a solid reputation to hold an edge through several skinnings. Customers told me they were tough to sharpen but possible. Like Benchmade, you can send them back to KOA to have them resharpened. You would not believe the stories Customers told me about how many game animals they had processed before they had to resharpen. They are in my opinion, the best hunting/skinning knives on the market.

I think the guy that makes them co-opted the use of the name Alaska in his marketing. I live in Alaska and hunt and none of the hunters I know use them. Of course anecdotal evidence is useless.

I see nothing Alaskan about them and I dont like their design.

You can dress a moose with most any knife handy. Hell Ive used a fillet knife for some of the process. A good portable saw and a couple of easy to sharpen knives with belly to them, a diamond steel and you are set.

those are very solid knives that you are looking at Johnny I love those and sell alot of them where I work.
