The Santa Clara BACA knife show is this weekend. I'm thinking about going to it. So my question is how are the BACA shows? Is it mostly aimed at customs, or will there be plenty of production knives there also, like BM or Strider. Do the knife companies send reps to the shows or is it just dealers?

This will be my first knife show so I don't really know what it's like, are the people willing to deal or are there good prices..??

Thanks!

It's pretty much custom makers and dealers. But the dealers pretty much have all of the production knives you'll want to see.

Every year is a little different. I first started going when they had the show at the old Le Baron Hotel in San Jose, followed them to their shows near SFO, to the Santa Clara Convention Center, the last two years in Palo Alto and now back to Santa Clara. I've never been disappointed. You get a little of everything, a Moro Sword dealer, lotsa custom swords and custom knives, dealers, Fenix lights, knife making supplies, raffles, etc. There was a Kershaw Rep last year and Duane Dwyer from Strider Knives has been attendance. If you are looking for the rare, you can probably find it there, or at the least a lead on where to get it. All in all if you are a knifenut this is the place to be, just for the sheer fun of it. The only drawback I can see is that compared to the early show at the Le Baron is that you now have to wait in line to get in! The only other shows are in Solvang and So. Cal and require more effort and resources to get too.
