How are the custom Fallknivens working out?

I'm interested in getting one of the custom Fallkniven F1's or S1's. I'm curious how the folks who have gotten these find them to perform in comparison with the production F1/S1. For example, I know that BRK has done some "BarkKnivens" with their nice handle treatments. Do you find these kinds of add-on handles to SIGNIFICANTLY enhance the ergos/usability of the Fallknivens?

A related item I've been wondering about is the 3G steel they use. Anybody know what it's comparable to, performance-wise? Seems like it's running at about a $100 premium over the VG10 knives.

Someone just asked a really similar question here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/946771-Need-help-from-the-Fallkniven-folks

I'll just say what I said there: You won't really find many definite answers when you're generalizing about customs, simply because "custom" doesn't mean anything definite. You just have to go by your own experience and preferences for what handle materials, shapes, and sizes you prefer.

You'd have to handle everything and decide on your own. Thermorun is a great material for grip, durability, and insulation, but the shape and size Fallkniven molds it to might not be to your liking. I'm no help here because I can get used to anything.

Lots of threads about their VG-10 vs. their 3G, too. The general consensus is that VG-10 is already pretty spectacular and to get a VG-10 Fallkniven is hardly considered "settling," yet 3G still has a noticeable improvement to edge retention.
