A few pics I took while imbibing on Christmas Eve? How are you opening yours?

Only beer I know that tastes kind of like bacon! :D

Jack

That's funny that's what we called it when I worked for Craft Brewers, it was easier to say. The morning after the first time I drank it I was taking a shower and it took me a minute, I smelled like a campfire, I realized it was the smoke from the brew coming out my pours:-)

LOL! Brilliant! :D Have you tried the oak-smoked version too (though I prefer the other)?

Gosh, I have to amit that you guys are putting me to shame. I, nor anyone in the family, popped a single beer. There was a case of wine, whiskey, rum, and brandy consumed. My son used his SAK corkscrew, and my sister in law used a fancy high tech corkscrew, while my son in law and I just twisted off the cap on a large gallon jug of Even Williams. Daughter Jessica and wife Karen severely damaged a bottle of Captain Morgans. Some Vodka got killed in action the next morning with a pitcher of Bloody Mary's.

I'm ashamed of myself, being good American and not one beer killed.:o

Carl.

LOL! Sounds like you were too busy with the hard stuff Carl! ;)

We went for beer on Christmas Eve (started off with a couple of pints of Sierra Nevada Celebration and some bottles of this year's Anchor Christmas brew), wine for Christmas Day (though I did have one beer), and today I've got a nice-looking bottle of The Balvenie Doublewood staring at me expectantly from the kitchen table! :D

Glad you and your family had a great Christmas

One of three ways: Either my Victorinox Rambler or Tourist, or my Leatherman Micra.

Or I pop the top off my beer with my teeth, yell "Arrrrrrrrgh," and pound down every last drop.

Mostly, though, I open 'em with a SAK or Micra. :o

Jack - this great ammount of beer looks like a lot of fun :D :p

I use a bottleopener or a (Bic) lighter for opening my beer and sometimes my knives - when there are tools for this kind of work, if not the spine of a fixed blade is also a good way opening a beer bottles :D

Prost!! (aka Cheers)

There were some more Andi, but I was kinda having difficulty with focusing the camera by that point! ;)

The Bic lighter is a very traditional bottle opener throughout Europe! :D

I see the Micra gets some love here too :)

Prost!

If I had photo capabilities you would see last years forum knife! What a beauty!!

If I know I will be having a few, I normally have one of these or something similar:

If all I feel like carrying is a traditional knife, peanut, stockman, etc. I carry something like this: to open bottles, screw, pry etc.

This Christmas Eve the wife and went for a walk with my daughter and ended up at the dangerously close brewery/ brewpub......,,
