We all love Beckers, that's why we are here. But I know a lot of us also use other knives and im curious when it comes down to it, in which situations do you use which knives?

For food I use cheap steak knives and a Mora
Small task I use a bk14
medium bush craft I use a Ratmandu
Large bushcraft/ chopper I use the bk9

I open packages with a Kershaw cryo, and when I want to destroy stuff with no practical intentions I pull out the bk2.

So when it comes down to it what knives/folders/multi tool/ SAKs/ etc. do you use and in which situations?

Daily, I use my Vic Farmer for most things, but occasionally I use my 11 for larger tasks. I also carry a 13 every day, and it gets some use.
I've normally used a combo of my 16 and 9 when I'm in the bush, but I'm gonna try to use only my 15 and CS Trail Hawk this season.

Food: Cheap steak knives and BK-17
Food Prep: BK-5 and BK-17
Small Tasks: ZT 0200 or BK-14
Medium Bush Craft: Buck 119
Large Bush Craft: Small ax or hatchet and BAHCO folding saw
Opening packages: Whatever happens to be in my pocket at the time, usually a Cryo, Spyderco Persistence, or Byrd Meadowlark
Misc: Sometimes have a Victorinox Rucksack or a Supertool 200 in my pocket
This will change a bit this year because of acquisition of BK-7 and BK-9.
Oh, and because I can't bend over too far, a 1311 to trim my toenails.

For daily things I use my dirty old BK-11 that lives in a duct tape sheath on my workbench.
For "bushcraft" and other outdoor things I use my 16.
Large chopper its my BK-9, IMO, that thing seems to chop so much better than the Machax...Maybe I need to regrind my 4...
Everything in between/no idea what I'm doing situation it'd be the 2 or 7.

For general screwing around in the woods and food stuff it's the BK11CSM.
If I need something bigger it's the Yuma.
Mostly use for the ZT 0560 for anything during the day that needs to be cut. (and some things that don't)
The BK4 has been getting a lot of camping woods time lately.
The BK7 is in line waiting to get modded and then that will most likely take top spot. (may be a tie with the Ratmandu)
For big chopping it's the NMFBM.

For food I use BK14 or CRKT M16-10KZ
Small task I use a M16-10KZ
medium bush craft I use a BK2 or BK14
Large bushcraft/ chopper I use the BK2
Open packages with M16-10KZ
Destroy random stuff with BK2.
Yeah... Sorry for the small amount of knives.
I've got those three, and a couple cheap knives of no use.
Waiting to get a 9 or 4. Maybe someday...

I use my 14 daily for small cutting tasks, to include some food prep. (It's because it is right there on my hip)
For general kitchen use: cheap-assed knives we all have in the kitchen
At work I cannot carry a fixed blade: so I carry a Gerber "Fast-something or other" (It's so-so, but can cut, and generally for emergencies only, it is no longer used outside of work)
In the field (camping) or in the back yard to trim/chop small branches I'll use the 16 and 2

So, this is going to be for the last few days:

For eating (steaks and such) BK-11/14/15/17 which ever happens to be on me that day.
For food prep- Esse kitchen knives
for small stuff- Daizee 100% or Esee Izula.
For slightly larger stuff- Magua
For larger still- Esee 3/4 or BK-15-17
For larger still- Esee LS or BK7
For chopping- BK-3/9

EDC is a BK24. For "dirty jobs" around the house, my 11. Chopping, like landscaping, I'll use a Cold Steel machete or some sort (got a few types...) or a Condor Parang or Golok. Batoning firewood for the chiminea and firepit, BK9 or RD9, depending on my mood. Fuzz sticks, kindling, etc I'll use an ESEE Laser Strike, BK15 or 16, Condor Bushlore or Kephart. Kitchen, I made a paring knife from a Green River patch blade, with jigged bone scales. That's my go-to for opening mail, paring, slicing veggies, boxes containing new knives, etc.

Car camping food prep - Opinel No. 8 (carbon version). The thin blade works great for slicing food and holds an edge fairly well- basically a folding paring knife
Regular food prep - Henckels blades (german steel ones)
Fishing - Leatherman Juice XE6 (this also comes with me on most backpacking trips)
Skinning game - Knives of Alaska Magnum Alaskan w/ guthook
Bushcraft and backpacking - just got my BK2!!!! - previously I used a Schrade Extreme Survival SCHF1
EDC folder that gets used for all sorts of random stuff - Buck Vantage Pro
Sailing - I use full sized multi tools and use both the older USA built Schrade Tough Tool, and one of the old school Gerber multi-tools (slide out pliers with interchangable tools) I would say these two knives are the most heavily abused between cutting all sorts of rope, to using the tools to complete impromptu motor repairs, to cranking on bolts loosened in storms on my rigging. All other multi tools i've ever taken sailing have been destroyed while in use except for these two. Its really a shame that they aren't built anymore to the level of quality.
