How are you going to sharpen your FBM?

Hey everyone, I was wondering how do you plan to sharpen your FBM? I have a LE FBM on order that I plan to use. Not knowing many ways to sharpen I plan to use the sandpaper and mouse pad method. Too bad that i did not grab a Busse Strop when the store had them in stock. Don’t know if the sand paper way is the best way… lets here what you plan on using.

I have an LE FBM and four others on order. I am very tempted on ordering another LE

My Edge Pro Apex does a perfect job on all my Busse's, including the big ones (biggest is a HOGFSHLE). You have perfect control of the edge geometry, and once the edge is polished up using the 3000 grit polishing tapes, maintenance on a leather strop is easy and simple.
For stropping, I use a 3"x11" piece of red conditioned leather with a light dusting of the green 0.5micron Chromium Oxide dry honing compound - works like a charm. http://www.handamerican.com/products.html
The Edge Pro is indispensable, especially on these high-end knives. Get one - you will wonder how you ever did without it!

Double sided strop. I tape fine sandpaper to one side and load the other with the compound. Works well for convex. Hair poppin' sharp first time. No practise. I've always used stones but knew I needed something different for the convex edges. I hold the knife and push the strop.

I was looking at that item last time iw as in leevalley. I think it would be better to use then a mousepad.

I did order a few more, but hope to use a few down the road to do a little blade tradin' for those knives I want & missed as I have only recently found 'Lord INFI' to be my master. LOL 'The Dark Side, HA-ha-ha!! ...Must do my master's bidding... Yes, 'Lord', I ordered more...

As long as SOMEONE ordered more than me I won't feel so... INSANE. I am embarrassed to say. LOL :foot: Might've bit off more than I can chew! ( ...But don't bet on it!)
