How are you liking your Gray Grips?

I guess the 20cv/g10 grips have been out for 6-8 months, what are some thoughts?
A buddy of mine that swore by his Ritter mini griptilian replaced his ritter with the gray blue G10 mini. All things equal, can't kick it out of his pocket and likes the fact that the gray blue blends in with faded blue jeans, camo, and even with khakis plus the deep carry clip, it really disappears. Feel free to post some pics of your grays!

My 550-1 had lock stick sent it back and came back with lock stick again, so it now sits in my safe and maybe I'll blade swap it with my Ritter but carrying my 940-1 a lot , blade steel has been great and razor sharp out of box, i did re-grind to 15* per side with a 20* micro bevel to 3.5 microns so almost full mirror and she is a great slicer, may send it back again to get polished and fix the lock stick

I've got a 556BK-1 on the way. Looking forward to it. I really like the look of the gray scales with blue liners and standoffs. My biggest concern is that the saber flat grind will be too robust for my liking. If so I'll thin it out or perhaps go for a regrind. I have an older mini grip with sheepsfoot and the hollow grind is awesome. I'd prefer that grind with a pointier tip.

I love mine!! The G-10 feels so good in the hand, and the knife is smooth as butter.

don't have one yet, but it is on my list! it will blow surely away my custom S30V grip with allan putman blue anso scales......damn you banchmade!!!! just...just take all of my money won't you!!!! :D

I've had a 555-1 for several weeks now, and I haven't seen the need to carry anything else. I actually sold my favorite EDC, a serrated Spyderco Native, in order to get it. I have no regrets about doing that. I can honestly say that 20CV is one of the few higher end steels that actually behaves like a higher end steel for me. The factory edge was very, very sharp, and it's easy to keep it that way. I actually polished the edge up a bit, but went back to a rougher finish. It seems to perform better that way. I never minded the Noryl handles on the regular version, but I definitely love how solid the G-10 handles feel.

I was initially worried about corrosion resistance, since I'm frequently covered in salt water and sweat at work, but that hasn't been an issue so far. Even the internals seem to be rather rust resistant. I'm loving the Axis lock too. I forgot how much fun they can be to use.

Altogether, I'm loving the 555-1, and I'm already thinking about what will be my next Grip.

My experience with polishing the edge is the toothier it is the better I like it. If I read it right above, in sending your knife to Benchmade, they don't polish blades or edges. Am waiting for a 20CV Grip, maybe this month, to see how it performs. Thanks for your comments~!

I really like mine, I got it in a trade for a lower priced knife. However, I would still have a hard time paying the price they are asking for these. I love the knife and enjoy using it but I would not pay $180 for it, so many other better choices for that price. But that's just me...Great knife though, especially if they dropped a few $ off the price.

I got my 556 with the 20cv today and I did a lot of cutting to test the steel. I was very impressed. As I suspected I don't really like the saber flat grind.

I just couldn't commit to the 20cv. I love the saber ground 556's have a few in different steels (154cm, s30v, ect....) so I'm not judgeing the primary grind. The 20cv holds an edge exta long but reprofiling and sharpening take too long, and that's with diamond stones. I guess I'm just not a super duper steel kind of person, I passed my 556-1 on. My favorite still remains s30v.

I carried a mini grip for years, then added a full sized grip. I kinda' like the 154 steel because it's easy to touch up when it starts to get dull. The frg handles have stood up to hard use & the only problem I have with them is that they look cheap, now that the new G10s are out.

So in the long run, I see no need to replace either of my old Grips.

Has anyone tried dying their scales yet? Perhaps black?
