How bad is the BAD? Did I make the right choice?

I've mostly focused my energy and funds on grabbing INFI in the 6"-Big range.

I've got plenty of EDCs from Bussekin & other makers but none are INFI except the HACK Bear Cub, which is the only piece I can currently EDC where I live and work.

Well I am moving to somewhere where I can EDC whatever I want. Don't get me wrong, the HBC and some of my other blades are great, but I want something a little bigger in the best knife steel there is. What can I say? I like having nice things.

As a moving present I decided on getting myself a proper INFI EDC. I put a lot of thought into it and decided that I wanted something satin, thin and with colored G-10.

It came down to the AD, BAD, SAR-3, GWLE and the CABS

I decided to get a BAD and one popped up on the exchange with a sheath and at a decent price within a few days.

So convince me that I made the right choice. If you're a fan of the BAD, tell me what you like about it. Better yet, show me it!

I just got my first BAD a couple of weeks ago and I love it. It feels comfortable and fast in the hand and feels substantial without being clunky.

For a thin INFI EDC, the BAD would have been my first recommendation. I should have gotten more than one when they came out.

A collectable knife. From a steel head's point of view it's the infi you'd want to compare to other steels for edge holding.

The Bad has become one of my all time favorite EDC. It is a great little Big knife and Big little knife.
Here is some pics of my favorite combos

The BAD has seen a few miles on the AT as well as field dressing quite a few deer.

Great choice, ENJOY

Bad is just about as perfect as it gets!

Handle is perfect shape for my hand.

The icing on the cake is the edge retention. At the higher hardness, I noticed a difference between it and my GW!

What I like about the BAD is the thinness of the blade (esp. the point) and the extra hardness of the steel. Here is the text from the Busse Company Store ad:

Here's a new take on the Active Duty. The Boney Active Duty featured here is a super thin slicer and dicer with a full flat grind at 1/8th inch!

The BAD's are mission specific designed to be wicked slicers!

We have bumped the hardness on these to 60-62 rc for better wear resistance when cutting softer materials and in order to better support the extra fine point and edge.

These by far are the thinnest ground EDC blades to ever leave the Busse Shop. The edge of the primary bevel is ground down to .012 - .015 prior to sharpening and the distal taper extends nearly the full length of the cutting edge!

The tips are VERY fine and are not designed for prying or heavy abuse... No worries though. If you find yourself in a precarious situation and need to abuse your BAD, you are still covered by our warranty..

I think you made a great choice! I wish Busse made other models like this, especially a Meaner Street.

The BAD is one I've been wanting for a couple of years, I've just been putting it off since they pop up in the exchange fairly often. I definately see one in my very near future thanks to this thread.

Congratulations on a great score!

Has it arrived yet!? :D

WE NEED PICS:D:D:p
It says "Out for Delivery." :D. The only problem is I won't be home until late. If its too big of a package to fit into my mailbox, I'll get the dreaded delivery notice, and won't get it until the weekend :yikes: because I won't have time to go to the PO to pick it up until then. Hopefully it was sent in a small package.

I will definitely post pics once I have it in hand! I'm psyched!
