Hi Guys, I'd like post here a photo sequence in dagger contruction. The dagger is Loveless tipology and I did it some months ago. I hope you enjoy it.
After cutting steel - CPM154 with 5,2mm - I draw the centerline and cover with the steel blue

I trace limits of grinding on the entire contour of the knife and after I start to grind the blade side to side always trying to respect the symmetry, I have grinded this blade with 8" weel

This is the result after grinding with 80 grit ceramic belts

This is the result after grinding with light passage of 400 grit belts

Ok, this is the blade after I make all the holes and work with sandpaper by hand from 220 up to 400, I cut a AISI 416 steel piece for to make a guard with a little guide andafter many hours I did a slot for guard in witch the tollerances are really good and the space between the blade and the guard are reaaly minimal (I havent images
).

personally realize the HT, with the classical procedure using the aluminum plates.

After HT I regrind the blade from 400 grit with 8" weel and after I proceed with hand satin to 2000 grit. After some houres on the buffing machine I have a good mirror finish.
Proceed to stand guard
a little bit of steps!
I chose to make the handle in stabilized spalted maple .
gluing the handle
Ok, and this is the knife after the engraving:

The sharp edge is on only one side.
