How bout a clip for Izula sheath ?

Inspired by the "how do you carry yours" thread...

I usually just drop it in my pocket, but I'd like to carry it even if I don't have pockets or if pockets are busy. Waistband options are simple if you have a belt, but what if you don't?

The Izula is small enough that it could be carried attached to top edge of pocket or waist band using a clip, like most folders these days have. There is an option for an RC3 sheath with a clip. Why not a clip designed for the Izula sheath ??

How bout it RC ? I'll even buy another Izula to get one :D

I second the vote for the pocket clip. Since I recieved my Izula, my folders have been locked up. The sheath would need to have a back, because tip up carry may be a pain.

Why not just use the RC-3 clip?

Sure, it's a little wider than the Izula sheath, but the holes line up OK. If you felt strongly about it, you could grind off the wider part, until you could live with it. Or, chop it down however you want, drill out some new holes, and you'd be good to go. That being said, I wouldn't mind a dedicated boot clip for the Izula, with a metal clip. I'm not a big fan of the plastic in the current boot clip. It doesn't feel real durable to me.

That reminds me I had a play with mounting mine to a Bladetech belt sheath from the 5.11/Bladetech holster - works surprisingly well

Raindog - I have been thinking about this after I saw your setup on the Izula carry thread - definitely a solution. I have an Rat3 clip, but I was thinking how much nicer a clip specifically designed for the Izula sheath would be, and how much more functional it would be (less bulky, stronger hold) if it was actually a metal clip like on a folder.

I agree. It would be nice to have a metal clip attachment for the Izula. In fact, I've been thinking about trying my hand at some kydex molding, with a steel clip I have laying around. But for now, the RC-3 clip does the job. I've been thinking about ways to horizontal carry the Izula, but that's a topic for the carry thread, methinks.

That's a sweet setup, great idea.

The boot clip offerred under "optional sheathes and gear" on RAT's site can be modified and used for that purpose.
