may I ask you guys about if I want to know a production knife's history ,such as when did it be designed out, and when was the first batch of products come out to market? for example, if I want to know the history of coldsteel bushman, is there any website that I could go for?

Thanks so much.

Straight to the manufacturer would be my first stop. Send an email or write a letter to their corporate offices (if they have such a department) and ask, nicely. If that fails, use the internet to search for the item, a lot depends on how you word your query. Being that the knife you are interested in is not an original design to Cold Steel, it's more of a one piece design that probably dates back several hundreds of years as a farming/agricultural type tool.

Some models made by Cold Steel are considered classics and have a collector following of their own, examples being the Trail Master and Master/Magnum Tantos, et al. The result being that there are sites and forums where a lot of information is available. Unfortunately I am doubtful if the Bushman falls into that category. With CS models that have a history spanning decades I find that CS Customer Service is pretty much useless, not because they don't want to help, but many of these people were born well after the model came out. The best first step is to start by carefully examining the archived CS catalogs. Although not complete, in some cases an explanation of a model may be found, and at the very least the first year of introduction, as well as variations in a model.
