How can I inform this group?

As you regulars know, I have only visited here for a few times getting information after I purchased a NIB Schrade-Loveless at my small town gun/pawn shop. I'm not a collector but stopped by there this morning and he had picked up a box of mixed brand knives, a few were Schrades that look unused to my amateur eye but are not in boxes. I have no idea if his asking price is fair or not, but he let me bring them home where I just took pictures.

I noticed a thread below this one where someone was apologizing for attempting to sell knives here. With that said, is there a way to make this group aware of knives that are for sale without breaking the rules? My friend is not going to waste his time putting them on eBay but will sell them from his place of business.

Welcome, Venado!

The rules are put into place to keep it from being overrun by every person wanting to sell a knife they found in their garage.

That being said, I think your friend would find that the price of a Gold membership is a small price to pay for the knife-purchasing audience he will encounter. Most members of this site know what they want, and will pay fair value (or more) to get it.

In addition, he will gain valuable knife knowledge himself, and educate himself on the potential value of a knife before the sale.

I think a win-win situation without a doubt...

Thanks Glenn for your prompt reply. I do understand the reasoning.

Knowing this guy for years convinces me that the chance of him doing anything related to internet selling is absolutely zero. Knives are such a miniscule element of his business that it wouldn't be a cost effective use of his time. The only reason that I offered to inform this group was that they had been very helpful in providing me with excellent information on that Schrade-Loveless and I was attempting to repay in some small part for the courtesy that was extended to me by giving members a first shot at those knives. BTW, they might not be desireable or even a fair deal so most likely no one has missed out on a thing.

Cheers to all.
