How To How can I lighten the color of ram horn?

I just received a fantastic Lionsteel Dom Beerlow but I find the color of the ram horn scales to be unattractive. They are this ugly carmel color that looks wrong with the satin steel.

Are there any ways to lighten the color of the material? Or to increase the contrast of the swirls and/or surface vs deep horn, as it is semi-transparent?
