How can I pay for a membership with a money order or an international credit card?

You can't use the Automated Membership System unless you're in the US and using a credit card. If you want to pay with a check or money order you have to use the Old System so you don't get instant activation or the discount. It does work though, in a day or two. :cool:

You can pay with a credit card even if you're outside the US if you use the Old System You will see a notice that only US credit cards are accepted but it doesn't apply to memberships (the international credit card thieves don't realize how valuable a Bladeforums membership is, fortunately for us).

I'm going to edit the title of this thread and stick it to the top of the forum -- I hope that will make this information easier to find.
 
This is just a question, or maybe an idle thought, nothing more, but ...

If membership payment is OK outside of the US with a credit card, then why is it not possible to use the automatic system? I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason, just curious.
 
Address Verification. Each non US membership has to be manually processed, where the new system is automated. Since they are manually proccessed, there is no cost savings though automation, hence the more expensive price.
 
I just signed on for gold membership according to the instructions......hope I did everything right!

I was looking at the options on the old system page linked to above. I did not see where I could purchase a basic membership (?). Did I miss something? Can I just send a check to:

Anyway, should have done this a long time ago. Had some rough times this year - but I am on here far too much not to contribute. And at $10 I feel like I have no excuse. So let me know if that's right & I'll be sending y'all a check ASAP.
