How can I safely remove the scales from a traditional folder?

I have recently become excited about traditionals and now have more of them than I do the modern, one handed opening knives.
Problem is I got spoiled with easily being about to make adjustments, to some extent, on modern blades such as simply unscrewing the scales to take them off for cleaning, etc.

Does anyone know of a good video or article I can use to as safely as possible remove the scales/covers from both pinned and not pinned old style pocket knives?? I also wonder how to put them back on again?? Glue? Other method?

Thanks very much!

Pinned scales are not meant to be removed. Doing so requires removing the pin head and driving the pins out. Replacement requires installing new pin stock and peening new heads on either side.
And, you will probably break the scale. Traditional knives require different methods for cleaning. Use toothpicks, Q tips, pipe cleaners for cleaning.

Thanks very much for your help with this. I saw only one clip on it but scared me to think of trying the method I saw.
