Hi,
I have a lansky basic system, is it possible to sharpen the scissors on my leatherman wave using it?

Thanks,
MAT

MAT,

Yes it's possible. Make sure you keep the same angle. (You may have beeter luck free-handing it.) Remember to lightly take the burr off the back. Also leave the edge a bit "toothy". If it is over polished, the material (thread, cloth, paper) will just slide out.

yeah the important thing to remember when sharpening scissors is only to sharpen one side!! if you sharpen the side that contacts the other blade in the scissor then they wont meet and wont cut properly

Hi,
thanks for the advice but the problem is the lansky stones are to wide to get into the scissors to sharpen them along there whole length so i was hoping there is a way to take the the scissor blades apart?

Thanks,
MAT

ahh i see

looking at my wave I would say there is no way of getting those blades apart, theyre rivetted together and it would mean drilling the rivet and then replacing it, something that would be very difficult to do and get right,

I would suggest sharpening them with a steel or ceramic rod or alternatively with a small whetstone or diamond stone.
