Seller on Ebay says it came from the Camillus bankruptcy sale, but has the Made in USA ground off on the blade.

It has the black textured finish and comes with nylon sheath.

Do the 420 and AUS-8 versions have different and distinct finishes?

If it does not say carbon V its not carbon V. It should say carbon V under the cold steel logo IIRC.

Carbon V is a 1095 alloy, if I remember correctly. It's like Case's CV, except holds an edge better.

I don't think you can tell without holding it in your hand.

I've seen plenty of Cold Steel knives made of Carbon V, and I've never seen one that did not have "Carbon V" stamped on the blade.

Including slipjoints.
