The HI Logo is on the right side at the shoulder and the Kami marks are on the left side next to the bolster. Yes, it is an HI made Foxy Folly. I found the thread where you bought it and it's a lovely one.

That handle is asking to be wood chucked. Bet it would look awesome with a hand rubbed oil finish. ;) I've done it to a few of my HI Khukuris and it was definantly worth the effort. Congrats!!

If it is the one you got from me, you can search thru the old 'deal of the day' threads from Yangdu and see where I bought it from her:D

No problem. The Ritter is exactly what I was looking for. Did you find the tutorial on sharpening a convex edge? I'm pretty sure someone on this forum has posted one.

I recently got Big Bob's Foxy Folly which came with a convex edge by a bloke called Daniel Koster!:p

It has already made a big difference to my overgrown Banksia tree in the front garden and will be put to work in the back yard along with the 20inch CAK before too much longer.:D

Wood chucked is a term often used around here that means to work on a wooden handle, wether it be sanding it to fit your paw or improving the finish. A hand rubbed oil finish such as Tru-oil has been used on many kukri handles with stunning results. There is currently a thread on the first page discussing tru-oil finish.

For sharpening there has been a thread in the last few weeks that talks about it and even has a link to Dan's video. Personally I use progresavely finer sandpaper backed by a mouse pad to get a good convex edge. Not as fast as belt sander but its not as hard to mess up either.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your FF, saw it when Foxmd had it for sale; you got a good one. Please read the safty thread before using.

Looks like Skyler Beat me to it. Sorry my post wasn't clear, I thought everyone on BFC knew the term. :foot: A hand rubbed oil finish would be great on your new Foxy. :)
