How come people don’t enter

So how come so many more people view the post than enter. 1812 people viewed the thread and only 180 entered. I could understand it when I was new in the industry but we have been doing this for a couple years and there are several knife winners who have posted here to vouch for the contest. You don’t even get on a mailing list.

If you have any doubts please read the posts from people who won before.

I guess the reason I care is that I hate to see any knife person miss an opportunity like this. Also, if you don’t trust me, I will tell you that this is a really well run forum. If you can't trust me you can sure trust the forum.

Maybe all the views are from the same 180 people, or maybe some folks don't need a particular knife in their collection and want to give everyone else a better chance to win.
 
Well, take my post, multiply it by the three times a day I check to see if I won, times the number of days........;)

The views counter goes up everytime someone looks at that particular thread. I entered a while back, but have checked the thread several times to see if I had won. I kept checking back because you never said when it ended in the primary post. Therefore I probably account for six or eight "views" but only one entry.
 
I'm guilty of several views, since no mention was ever made of how or when it ends.

So when will I get my new knife?????

I never win any contests, so I never enter.

If I was to win some contest, my faith would be restored and I'd start entering.

But, until I start winning contests, I don't see why I should waste my time entering them.
 
And don't give me any of that "ya' gotta' play to win" crap. Tide sent me a box of detergent in the mail just yesterday. So, you don't have to buy detergent to wash.
 
I only enter contests where the knives would be effective when used against mall ninjas...

However, Lurker was right on point (so to speak). There have been some other contests where I didn't enter, because I wasn't interested in the knife being given away. Why should I ruin someone else's chance to win, if I'm not really interested?

Well I'll enter since I live a half hour from prize central. That and I'm conducting research on Chuck's "Catch-22" regarding contests.
 
I know I checked in but hadn't seen the article yet, so I waited until now to post for a chance to win a great knife.
 
I entered a give-away contest by Bayou Lafourche, and I won the Sebenza. That's it for me, guys, it wouldn't be fair to do that again, someone else gets the next knife! :D
 
I'll guess there are alot of people that read this ofrum but aren't registered. Also for me, I don't want to put my email on a directly readable page. My reasoning is it just makes it easier to get spam.
