How come people who don't like tantos

You are either joking or think that the only reason many people dislike tantos is because they look ugly to them.

The answer to your question is: Because then it is a practical utility cutting edge.

Most people that don't like tantos dislike them because they feel they don't offer a practical edge and thet they go for looks over function. Tantos do some things well, but in general having a belly instead of a point along the edge is better. I understand that some people like the function of a tanto, but in general a belly is preferable, and in general people buy tantos for looks not function.

Turning the tanto over allows for a good utility edge rather than a bad one.

The 940 does not have a tanto-style cutting edge. So why exactly do you feel it is strange for people that dislike tantos to like knives that are totally different?

In other words...

"How come people who don't like tantos like the same thing if it's turned over and sharpened on the other side?

Because it is turned over and sharpened on the other side.

I like tantos quite a bit....they're more specialized than reverse tantos, but they offer unique benefits...

For looks, I really like reverse tantos....they're probably my third favorite looking blade style.

My question is, "who says that the people who like this knife don't like tantos also?"

But, assuming that your viewpoint is correct then Hair answered your question for a standpoint of reasoning.

But, to give you a different aspect on things let me ask you this.

How come my best friend doesn't like blondes but goes nuts for a dark haired girl with blonde highlights?
