Not that it bothers me I was just wondering how come h1 steel is so dirty? I just finished flitzing my new spyderhawk and my micro fiber cloth is filthy.I've noticed this with other h1 knives as well. No other steels comes like this and I guess curiosity has gotten the best of me and I need to know :D

This is just my theory. Other steels are laser cut to the exact blade shape, while H1 steel is cut ... i don't really know how to explain in words. H1 steel is soft, and it must be 'worked' in order to achieve the hardness suitable for use. That's why they must be hollow grounded. So i'm guessing all the filthy stuffs on ur cloth is metal resisude left over from the 'working' of H1 steel

It's an unforgettable thread i appreciate it,and i think probably same as the Metal load your stones.........

I'm inclined to think it's not loose dirt or steel particles but rather that, since the sides of an H-1 blade are relatively soft, the Flitz is simply removing more metal than it would on harder steels.

Well after a good cleaning its the same as other steels whereas it doesn't take any tarnish off anymore unless its dirty. You can also feel the grittieness go away.
