I was wondering why there is only one production Emerson fixed blade the PUK? I would bet a lot of people would plunk down their cash for a fixed blade version of the Specwar if it was a production knife.

Just enlarge the Spec War blade to say five inches keep the current handle and BAM! A perfect EDC fixed blade EMERSON!!!

How about it Ernie or Derek or anybody at EKI?

Just a thought...

Actually.... there are two production fixed blade styles... the PUK and the LaGriffe...

Yes I am a pedantic freak. Thank you for noticing. :D

Some more production fixed blades would be cool to see definatly, but I personally would rather see some fresh new designs for them.
Not that the customs designs arent cool, they are, totally cool, but I'd like to see them retain their mystique, instead of losing even a little of it by having production versions of them available.
And new designs, well... that just makes everybodies wish list longer  but that aint a bad thing :D (unless yur broke, like me.)

Just my dos pesos.

If you can find one, grab yourself a Timberline 'Specwar'. If I'm not mistaken, EE collaborated with Timberline in its design. They also made a smaller version called the 'Aviator'. Unfortunately, Timberline no longer manufactures the Specwar line, so if you do find one, it should be a keeper.

Ernest had a new "concept" fixed blade at the SHOT Show. "Concept" meaning it's not in the line up yet to be made. It's basically a cross between a SARK and a PUK. SARK blade on a PUK handle called the "SARK2".

Others may follow . . . .

Thanks Hollister:

My ultimate F/B and I find out its only in the concept phase!

I was talking to a maker about a similar idea because I love my PSARK so much. I guess I'll have to wait for a bit.

I think that www.knifecenter.com has a few of those Timberline Aviators available. They are a smaller version of the SpecWar. They are also cheaper than the Timberline SpecWar. You can still find the larger Timberline SpecWar on ebay every once in a while. The problem is that it is chisel ground on the wrong side for right handers. The chisel grind is actually done on the side for left handed users.
Still, it is an absolutely awesome blade. Super tough. Pick one up if you can find one. If you are lucky you can get one on ebay for $150-$175.

i have never seen a emerson knife that was chisel grind/right handed - is there one i'm not aware of (other than customs)??

I have a Timberline Aviator - it is a nice small fixed blade!! The handle is similar to a Specwar and the blade is the same basic shape. The sheath that comes with it is nice as it has a number of methods of carry. I would say that I am open to offers on this knife :D (if that was allowed around these parts!)

Regards,

Ed

All the facinating combinations of P, U, S, U, K, S etc, and they want to call it the SARK2. That's almost as bad as Glock, Inc's methods for product naming. Come on lets have a little fun.
