How could a Knife sheath be better

Regarding a project research for knife sheath design, i wanted to ask the people who use/carry knife daily or for military combat purposes; what kind of problems do you guys face while carrying knives or while drawing or sheathing them. What features would you want for your knife sheath which are not available in the existing designs.

So you've come to get ideas for your product research? Do you have any credentials or background?

I have always thought a sheath that holds a folding knife open like a fixed blade would be cool.

Then I could get a folder that pulls out as fast as a fixed blade. Or be able to attach it to webbing.

But I could also just fold the thing up and put it in my pocket if I wanted.

I could then just have one knife.

But I am also about the only person who thinks this is a good idea.

The ability to clean inside the sheath, Ive seen a few, screw together kydex designs, some Mora sheaths arent bad...but try getting gunk or grit out if a tight kydex or leather sheath

I have built sheaths for opened folders.

The Gerber "Parabellum" came with a sheath that would hold the knife in the open AND closed positions.

it really bums me out when my sheath makes a noise when I'm about to take out a sentry. I usually have to cough or clear my throat so they can't hear it.
Some people make sheaths from leather, but they just don't seem tactical enough for my high speed, low drag lifestyle.
🤷‍♂️

The Demko Armiger 4 and Freereign I just got have sheaths that are designed to take apart for cleaning. The kydex sheaths from Volunteer Knife and Carothers (I am sure many others as well) have opening at the tip to allow for drainage/washing. I like to rinse and then blow out the sheaths with a compressor.
